December Calendar

The Youth Ministry Calendar for the month of December is now available to pick up from the youth group bulletin board. Can you believe that we're about to wrap up another decade!? I know that December is always a busy time of the year for most of you, but I don't want our youth group activities to be just "one more thing" to add to your schedules. Our activities are planned to encourage and grow you in your walk with Christ... even if it's sometimes just in being silly and having fun together! Be on the lookout for details about our separate Junior High and High School Christmas parties this month as well as some great ways to serve others. Hope you had an awesome snow day!

Fireproof Concert

Everyone is invited to join us for a night of high energy music. The Fireproof Concert series is proud to present Lecrae, Sho Baraka, After Edmund, and Mikeschair at the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts Center here in Carlsbad. They are all sure to put on a good show! The concert begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 19th. The tickets are $10 at the door or $7 in advance. However, if you let me know before Wednesday the 18th I can get you into the concert for only $5! What a deal! Invite all your friends! High School Devo

All 9th - 12th graders are encouraged to join us for a High School Devo on Sunday, November 15th. We will meet at the home of Jeff (that's me) and Kara (that's my wife) Shelton right after the evening worship service (around 7:00 PM) for some food, fun, and fellowship. All guys need to bring some carbonated beverages to share and girls need to bring some sweet, sweet, goodness of a dessert. We will provide the usual devo staple (breadsticks and pizza). We'll keep the good times rolling until 9:00 PM so make plans to be there and bring a friend or two. And 50 points to whoever gets the picture reference.

Food Group

There is NO SCHOOL for Carlsbad students on Wednesday, November 11th! To celebrate, all 6th - 12th graders are invited to get together for some food and fun after the Veterans Day Parade. Come join Jeff, Kara, and the kiddos at Pizza Inn on Pierce Street at 11:30 AM for a Dutch Treat luncheon (that means you have to pay for your own meal). After we eat we'll go play some games at the park or church building depending on the weather. We will finish up around 2:00 PM.

November Activities

The ladies of our church are having a retreat at Mountain View during the first weekend of the month. I'm sure it would be beneficial for some of you female upperclassmen to join them... and get your moms to go too! Since you're out of school on Wednesday the 11th, we'll have a special Food Group meeting at Pizza Inn that day. Just a time to eat and hang out together. Details about some of the other activities will be made clear as it gets closer to time. As always, you can get specific details about all of our activities by clicking on the "upcoming events" links on the left-hand side of this blog. Make plans to join us for whatever events you can, and remember that your friends are ALWAYS welcome! Happy Turkey Day!

Halo-Ween Party

All 9th - 12th graders are invited to join us for a fun-filled evening on Friday, October 30th. There will be plenty of food and games for everyone including a "just for fun" 2v2 Halo 3 tournament. So grab a partner, sharpen up your sharpshooting skills, and join us from 6:00 to 11:00 PM. The only requirement to get into the party is a bag of Halloween candy which we'll use the following day at our Trunk-or-Treat. Halloween costumes are not mandatory, but you might want to bring an extra Xbox360 controller or two if you've got them. See you there!
